CCC Stage 1
Type: Manhole Waterproofing & Rehabilitation
Location: Christchurch Date: Dec 2019
As part of the remediation works through wastewater reticulation system, the Christchurch City Council has identified a number of Manholes that have extensive leakages and chemical damage.
The repair consisted of three stages. The first stage was to drill into the manhole walls close to the infiltration. We then insert a nozzle and inject foaming resin into the void to quickly seal the infiltration. Next we cut off the nozzle and apply ready mix mortar to the area to further seal and smooth the damaged area. The final step is to apply a structural and chemical layer to the manhole to increase the life expectancy for over 50 years.
PipeMedic successfully rehabilitated two manholes under this project which saved the council a considerable amount of time and money.
